Whiskey is a bright, affectionate young greyhound who has taken to pet life with remarkable ease. Born on 30 October 2023, he’s still very much a puppy — curious, playful, and full of gentle enthusiasm for the world around him. From the moment he arrived in foster care, Whiskey settled in beautifully, showing confidence, sweetness, and a calm nature well beyond his age.
Whiskey is a bright, affectionate young greyhound who has taken to pet life with remarkable ease. From the moment he arrived in foster care, Whiskey settled in beautifully, showing confidence, sweetness, and a calm nature well beyond his age.
Whiskey currently lives with two adults and his greyhound foster sister, Scarlet, and he has shown wonderful social manners with visiting children aged 3 and 6. He’s also enjoyed friendly interactions with a visiting Border Collie, demonstrating that he’s comfortable and relaxed around other dogs. His foster carers describe him as a happy, easygoing boy who enjoys company but is also content to relax independently.
At home, Whiskey has quickly learned the rhythm of household life. He sleeps soundly through the night on his bedroom bed and uses his lounge bed during the day. He loves spending time outside on the lawn, soaking up the sunshine or watching the world go by. He can be left alone for 4–6 hours, making him suitable for families who work part‑time or have a balanced routine.
Whiskey is fully house‑trained, and after a couple of early settling‑in accidents, he now reliably toilets outside. He mostly squats to wee but occasionally cocks his leg — a charming reminder that he’s still figuring out life as a young male dog.
Playtime is one of Whiskey’s favourite things. He loves toys and will happily gather anything he can reach — shoes, tea towels, door stops, even underwear — though he never chews or damages them. He simply enjoys collecting! He also adores backyard zoomies with his foster sister, showing off his fun, puppy‑like energy.
On walks, Whiskey is currently exploring quiet neighbourhood streets. He can be a little cautious around cars, but with gentle exposure and reassurance, he’ll continue to build confidence. He’s still learning recall and needs encouragement to hop into the car, but he responds well to “No” or “ahh ahh” and is eager to learn.
Food is one of Whiskey’s great joys. His favourites include chicken necks, Ivory Coat biscuits, Prime100 Chicken roll, and sardines sprinkled over his dry food. He prefers his bowl at ground level and sometimes appreciates a helping hand to finish his meal — a sweet quirk that adds to his charm.
Whiskey is a loving, adaptable boy who will thrive in a calm, supportive home that can continue guiding him through puppyhood. He’s gentle, social, playful, and affectionate — the perfect companion for a family wanting a young greyhound with a beautiful temperament and a bright future. With his soft nature and joyful spirit, Whiskey is ready to become someone’s cherished forever friend.
