Adopted
Frankie (now Murphy)
Frankie’s (now Murphy) first hurdle was learning stairs! Thank gosh for his unmatched food motivation because he was a pro in no time.
Mostly a certified couch potato, happiest when curled up beside us, but we have found Murph’s got an adventurous side! He’s a beach explorer, a dog park socialite, loves to sing and talk and always ready to jump in the car for a new adventure.
We’re so lucky to have this goofy, loving, and endlessly entertaining pup in our lives. Murphy has brought joy, laughter, and a whole lot of slobber into our home, and we wouldn’t have it any other way.
Adopted
Suzi
Suzie has sunk her (slightly toothless) fangs into my heart and now I can’t imagine life without her. She’s an eternal sweetheart, equal parts cuddle monster and soul-gazer, with a talent for bewitching everyone she meets. Her days are filled with squeaky toy serenades, crime show marathons (her dark dramas of choice), and the sheer joy of car rides - her true gothic carriage to adventure.
She’s settled in beautifully, claimed her throne as queen of the couch, and made my world infinitely brighter. Life with Suzie feels complete, eternal cuddles and all!
Adopted
Henry
When we saw his beautiful face we knew he would not be with us for long.!
Henry was very timid , scared of noises like the coffee machine and vacuum and even scared of us. He would not leave our side and needed constant pats. He took the lead from foster sister Star and was soon ready for his forever home. - with us! Henry has become our first foster fail!- 🩷Aaron & Amanda
Adopted
Sami
Sami was my very first foster, and it didn’t take long for me to realise I couldn’t let her go. She’s the sweetest, most trusting pup I could have ever hoped for, and she’s brought so much joy and love into my life! Her little quirks and sassy personality never fail to make me smile — every day with her feels brighter!
Adopted
Johnny (now Jenko)
Jenko, (formally Johnny,) our quirky, full-of-life bundle of joy! From the moment we adopted him, he’s brought endless energy, laughter, and love into our home. Whether he’s zooming around the yard, showing off his playful personality, or curling up beside us after a long day, Jenko reminds us daily how special it is to have a loyal companion. His goofy quirks and big heart make him truly one of a kind—and now, we couldn’t imagine our family without him.
Thank you for matching him for our family. He’s so perfect for us.

Adopted
JD
JD came to us as a foster dog. He was a fairly shy and reserved dog, entering the house he took to a dark corner and curled up, probably where he felt most comfortable.
After only 1 day with us he came out of his dark corner and jumped onto the couch, gave me a big lick on the face and planted his face in my lap, almost as if he was saying “thank you”. It was this moment we knew we weren’t letting him go.
He is now our cheery little shadow, following us around the house with his big grin, not wanting to miss any of the goings on. The epitome of gentle and loving. He is caring of both us and our other dogs, who have now accepted him as part of the pack.
Thanks!
Gina and Jack
Adopted
Kylie (now Mini)
Mini (one m, cos she’s the opposite of small, mostly in personality), has taken over our home. Goofy and garrulous, she is also a bit of a barge-arsed bully when it comes to food. She’s put our grumpy first greyhound Jackson in his place, and taken over as ruler of the roost. She’s lazy, refusing to chase Jackson as he does his huge zoomies on the beach. And she thinks she is a lap dog, with her own personal couch!
Adopted
Ace (now Alfie)
(Ace) Alfie is slowly getting used to domestic life with the help of his big sister, Poppy.
He has lots of toys to choose from and a very big house full of love (6 adults and a little kid on the weekends!).
He’s especially excited to be celebrating his very first Christmas and can’t wait to open his presents (his favourite place to sleep is right next to the Christmas tree!). Alfie loves having zoomies and throwing toys around with Poppy, however does need some help to remember he is much bigger than her so he needs to be careful not to squish her! Surrounded by company, cuddles, toys, and the gentle guidance of his big sister, Alfie is thriving and is a very happy little man!
Adopted
Alyssa and Ares
We met Alyssa at the Rocky Pet Expo and immediately fell in love with her sweet nature. A few weeks later she came for her trial with us and there was never any doubt she wouldn’t be staying. She fit seamlessly into our lives and had us all wrapped around her paw from day 1.
A few weeks after that we decided she needed some company during the day, enter Ares (was Hero). He’s the boisterous to her calm, the boofhead to her intelligence. They immediately got along and I knew he was staying, they just complimented each other.
They spend their days cuddling on the couch, running around the back yard and just living their best houndie life with us. Greyhounds aren’t a breed a had ever really thought about to be honest, but now I’m so grateful to have these two in our lives!
Adopted
Dutton (now Tigger)
Our thanks to Jo and Hana at Love a Greyhound for introducing Tigger (formerly Dutton) into our lives. This nervous, goofy boy is absolutely flourishing as he adjusts to life as a treasured family pet. Sarah & George
Adopted
Tess
From Tharyn: Tess came to us as a foster. She was an extremely anxious hound, backing away from pretty much everyone and putting herself into safe spaces to be on her own. Within a couple of weeks she’d started to come out of her shell. She had a couple of failed placements and at this point we realised that we couldn’t bear to see her going through the anxiety of new people again. She’s completely opened up, and is such a pup (despite her early greying). She’s learnt to live with both cats (to the point of the cats letting her be on the bed with them without swiping at her). So, we foster failed and unfortunately this will be the end of our fostering days - but she’s totally worth it!
Adopted
Dusty
From the Campbells: Dusty (aka Lady Dusty Dubois Duchess of Campbelltown; aka Sista; aka Dusty Buns and greeted by my kids “hey gurl”) has fitted into our lives beautifully. She is loving, nosey, social, an absolute clown and has definitely made herself right at home. (Although she is still yet to master the orientation of her tongue lol) Dusty loves walking in nature as much as we do, and “going on an adventure” or as regular people call it, car rides. She cracks us up and we couldn’t be without her goofiness and cuddles. Thank you for pairing us with our perfect match.
Adopted
Jane
From Maya: Jane is my newly adopted rescue greyhound, and I honestly didn’t realise a greyhound was what my life had been missing. She’s the sweetest girl, snuggles up in my bed every night, and has filled my days with so much love and calm. Her cheeky personality is starting to come out and it’s been so exciting watching her come out of her shell. Jane has my whole heart, and my life is infinitely better with her in it.
Adopted
Olive
From Louise: My husband and I have been married for 45+ years. We have always had dogs and usually 2 at a time. I have always yearned for a greyhound, but my husband thought they would be heaps of work. Well 45+ years later I got my way and we have the joy of our lived Olive. She is the complete opposite to what my husband had envisaged, and now wishes we had got the greyhound bug sooner. Olive is the most non reactive dog we have ever owned. She is a simple pleasure to take everywhere with us, cafes, hikes, walks on the beach, she just loves being at our side and we just adore her. Olive is not an early riser anything between 8-10 in the mornings and holds her bladder without a single hiccup. Walks are fine at her pace leisurely with lots of sniffing, and saying hello to people she deems puppy friendly. We live in an apartment ( they are probably the most suited dog for an apartment. Never barks, friendly with everyone and all other dogs) and I would say she is the most well behaved dog in the building and adored by everyone. I would thoroughly recommend a greyhound to anyone, don’t wait tge 45 years like my husband. Thank you to Love a Greyhound for all their support and kindness.
Louise & Andreas and not forgetting our gorgeous Olive 👩🦰🧑🦳🫒
Adopted
Wayne
From Danica: Wayne has been the most wonderful addition to our lives. He is the sweetest, most gentle, yet goofiest boy and provides us with so many laughs throughout the day. He absolutely adores a big walk (especially if he can spot a roaming turkey or a cow), a car ride, flinging his toys in the air, running around with the neighbours’ kids, and most of all, cuddling up to us at any point in time (bonus points if it’s on the couch). We have loved watching Wayne’s personality grow each day and couldn’t imagine life without him. Thank you LAG, we couldn’t thank you more! The whole process was seamless and the support and knowledge that LAG were willing to provide from start to finish was amazing and invaluable. Wayne has settled in so well and this is a testament to the organisation’s commitment to getting to know both the people and the greys to make a great match. Everyone at LAG has been so kind, friendly and clearly cares so much about the wellbeing of all the dogs that come through their care.
Adopted 24th March, 2025
Cola
Cola came to us as our first foster, and within the first couple of days of being with her we knew we were absolutely going to fail as foster parents! She is the sweetest and cuddliest girl, yet is very inquisitive and needs to know everything that is happening in the house & neighbourhood. She loves her walks & we are still negotiating a reasonable morning walk time with her! A car ride every afternoon to one of the many parks around us has become a must, where much sniffing and meeting new people takes place. Cola’s quirky personality is really starting to show as she settles in & she is starting to figure out how to play with toys and humans.Cola has slotted so easily into our house and hearts, it’s like she’s always been a part of our lives.
Adopted 21st March, 2025
Hazel
After losing a senior hound last year, we were unsure if we were ready to adopt again. Enter Hazel. Hazel has filled our hearts with joy and love and has been a welcomed addition to our family. Hazel loves her walks, playing with her stuffed toys and ripping up any box she can get her paws on! Whilst still a little unsure of how to be social with other dogs, Hazel has been a star at greyhound training and we are slowly learning how to interact! Humans.....Hazel loves! She wants to say hello to anyone with her tail wagging in the air! Big thanks to Yumi for making the adoption process seemless and Jane, Hazel’s foster mum, who did such a great job!
Adopted 17th March, 2025
Harriet
From our first meeting with Harriet we fell in love with her. She has slotted into our lives seamlessly and we couldn’t imagine life before her! She is such a friendly girl and loves people, has become a very well-behaved cafe dog and is relaxed in new situations. She loves playing with her squeaky toys and doing her zoomies outside but is also content to sleep the day away. She loves her walks, car rides and is a sucker for a snuggle. She has bought so much joy to our lives. We are so grateful to LAG! Special thanks to Dan and Erica for fostering Harri and showing her so much love.
Adopted 9th March, 2025
Billy
Billy has quickly become part of the furniture (mainly because he loves being a lounge lizard) - it’s hard to imagine a life without Billy now. He loves his morning and afternoon walks, runs at the dog park, and most of all swimming (being floated) at the beach. He’s mastered stairs, getting in and out of the car, and is a polite boy with both humans and dogs when he’s out and about. Billy has bought so much fun and love to the house, we are so grateful we adopted such a beautiful boy.
Adopted 21st February, 2025
Cinnamon
With our baby girl Cinnamon, Cinny for short, (formerly Kelly), it was truly love at first sight. From the moment we met her we knew she was going to be such a bright addition to our lives. She’s a timid girl and took some time to show her true personality, but together we have learned she is an absolute goofball that loves hanging backwards off the coach, roaching wherever she can fit, going on five minutes of a walk before going “I’m done now”, and playing with ice cubes instead of her toys. Cinny has made herself at home and is already a beloved member of our little family. Thank you to LAG and Cinny’s foster mum who we still chat with regularly, for all the support and kindness on our journey.
Adopted 2nd March, 2025
Lenny
Lenny's favourite things are car rides, food!, playing with his toys, looking around the garden with Ruby (mini foxy), and laying around and sleeping in the big bed with his humans 📷Thank you again for introducing Lenny and bringing much love and happiness to us.

Gizmo
From the moment we met Gizmo, we fell in love with him and knew he would be perfect for our family. There was no question we wanted to adopt him!Gizmo is so friendly and loves meeting new people and doggie friends. We take him for walks with local greyhound groups and many sniffaris, he loves rides in the car and splashing around in the bay. Gizmo immediately made himself at home and was roaching at the end of the first day with us. He’s settled in well relaxing close to us on his bed surrounded by his toys. He’s an affectionate boy who loves a snuggle. The best part of the day is his morning wake up calls - with a snoot in the face.Thank you to all the work LAG do and also to Aaron and Amanda for fostering him and giving him such a great start to family life.
Adopted 30th January, 2025
Hempy
Hempy is a timid girl and has taken some time to settle in. She gets on well with her home buddy Bonna dog. She is slowly learning that it is OK to have the run of the house and go wherever she wants. She has somewhat mastered the stairs with her own unique bunny hop! She loves walks and hanging with the neighbours dog. Hempy is super affectionate and we know with time she will come out of her shell even more!

Maggie
Maggie (previously Vicki) is the sweetest, loving, gentle soul I’ve ever seen. I didn’t know I wanted a Greyhound until I met her. When hanging out with other hounds or dogs, she rallies them to play and have fun. She has a big personality and can be a bit stubborn at times. She has settled well into our apartment life and loves napping around the place. She is incredibly social, especially with humans and other big dogs.
Adopted 29th December, 2025
Velvet
Sweet girl Velvet came to the kennels in January of this year. In August, she found a foster-to-adopt home and has settled in beautifully. She’s mastered the stairs, adapted well to full-time workers, and even made some furry friends to play with!

Mika
Mini first came to us as a foster dog, but we failed fostering! We loved her bubbly, fun personality and how she loves our first greyhound, Keith. She’s a cheeky girl and makes us all laugh. She loves walking and meeting new people. We have now renamed her Mika and she is a wonderful addition to our family.
Adopted 31st October, 2024
Murray
When I saw Murray’s beautiful face on the LAG website, I knew I had to meet him. Murray is a big teddy bear who has fitted in beautifully with the family. He’s happy to share the love when my daughters visit, but equally happy to chill with just me. He does the cutest prance and head shake when he’s excited for a walk or dinner, and he has lovely manners. It’s wonderful getting to know Murray and seeing him feel more comfortable in his new family. He’s a big, beautiful boy whose eyes look right into your soul. Massive shoutout to Marlee and Greer for all your support throughout the adoption process.
Adopted 27th October, 2024
Hamish
We renamed him Hamish, and he is the most lovable and gentle dog.I would highly recommend a greyhound to anyone. Only short walks are required, and he walks perfectly at my pace. No pulling or excitement—just happy to be with me.He brings a sense of calm into my home with his gentleness and quirky personality. Hamish will walk into my granddaughter’s room, take one of her toys, look to see if we are watching, then saunter through to the lounge, put it down, and lay down to see what I will do. He gives it up as a gift, knowing he has his own toys. He is not a destructive dog and has fitted in so well. We all love him so very much.Everyone who meets him comments on how gentle and chilled out he is! That’s my boy Hamish!
Adopted 22nd October, 2024
Gooseberry
Gooseberry came to us to foster to adopt and from day one she fit right into our little family. She has become inseparable with our pug Rosie, they are two peas in a pod. She is the biggest sweetheart and has the kindest eyes begging for snuggles constantly. We couldn’t imagine life without her being a part of it.
Adopted 14th October, 2024
Chief
Chief loves his walks, but in between them, he’s happy to lounge around. He still has a cheeky side—insisting on getting on our bed when we’re out for longer than he’d like, though he doesn’t bother when we’re home! He’s already been on a camping trip, taken car rides, visited the beach, and we look forward to making many more memories with him.We hadn’t initially planned to let him in the bedroom, but now we actively bring his bed in when we call it a night, as he just wants to be close to us—and we love that feeling too. Chief is perfect for us! I had registered to adopt with a few greyhound rehoming agencies, but I can’t fault the team at Love A Greyhound. They are patient, understanding, and truly committed to doing what’s best for the dog to ensure the perfect fit. I can’t recommend them enough!
Adopted October, 2024
Wendy
I wanted a dog! I didn’t know I wanted a Greyhound. Until I met Wendy. I had to cancel other viewings I had lined up as I fell in love with Wendy’s quirky and beautiful personality. It has been 3.5 amazing years and she has grown into a beautiful and irreplaceable part of our family. She is quirky, super lazy, cute and intelligent. I love watching peoples ideas about greyhounds change once they meet her and see how she connects with people. And her love for humans and especially children is heartwarming to see.
Adopted 5th September, 2024
Judy
Judy came to live with us as a foster dog. Within a week I knew she was the one. So, we became her forever home. She loves to be near you and is like a gigantic cat. She rubs against you showing her love. She has mastered the stairs and is now home. Her playful side is always there (big goofball) and when we arrive home if she is not inside the zoomies hit. She responds to our voices the moment she hears us. She is so well behaved, except for the occasional shredding of paper. Our neighbour has also fallen in love with her and takes her for a walk every evening whilst I am out of action. She is excellent with other dogs and is always keen to say hi!Judy just loves everybody and wants to be part of the action.I cannot imagine life without her, she is the best company whilst my partner works away!Thank you LAG. I will continue to foster to help other beautiful gentle giants to find their forever home.

Bruce & Lilly
I’m so thrilled to be able to provide these two amazing best friends with the calm and predictable home that they both needed. We are now 3 peas in a happy pod who smile all day, do random happy rolls, have regular zoomie sessions and take lots of relaxing naps! Thank you so much to Claire and the team at LAG for keeping Bruce and Lilly safe and loved on their long journey home.
Adopted 6th August, 2024
Sven
Sven is a wonderful, well-mannered, and adorable greyhound. It took him some time to settle in and adjust to sharing his home and humans with his new sister, Opal. Initially, he felt the need to mark his territory indoors, but suggesting a “Treat for a Pee” outside has helped improve that issue. The first few nights were very cold, and he howled while sleeping outside, but now he settles down by 7pm and is found sound asleep even in -4 degrees. He is cozy at night and doesn’t seem bothered by the cold.
Opal, being a husky, enjoys being outside, but with Sven indoors, she is spending more time inside, which is a positive. With the return of sunny days, Sven likes to bask in the sun and alternates between lounging in the house and the backyard, enjoying his retirement. Special thanks to Christine and Graham for fostering Sven.
Adopted 5th August, 2024
Aiko
Aiko (formerly Lilo) has been adopted! It has only been 1.5 months since Aiko joined our little family, and she has truly claimed her spot already, both on the couch and in our hearts.
Aiko is a beautiful, affectionate, and very playful little hound. We love waking up to her positive energy while also appreciating her, and our first hound, Sandy, snoozing together in the evening in front of the television. We’re glad Sandy has now got a sister around for days when we work in the office.Since Aiko joined us, we’ve also realised our car is a bit too small for two greys. Now, we’re on the hunt for a new one that can fit both more comfortably – that’s when you know you’ve found a keeper!
Adopted 31st July, 2024
Betty Boo
Betty Boo has found her boo! Betty is adjusting wonderfully to her new home. She is a charming girl with a kind heart who adores spending time with you and receiving pets. Betty particularly enjoys going for walks, especially on the beach. She has found her forever family with Greg and the rest of the family at @almastreetvethospital Everyone at the clinic loves her when she visits, especially when she hangs out in the office. Enjoy those discounted vet fees, Betty!

Kano
We fell in love with Kano the first time we saw him and although we had some concerns on how big he is, that was all forgotten after the first day. He is such a beautiful boy and we get a laugh out of him each day. He has bonded with our old dog who is nearly 15 and has put some life back in her. Thanks to Evie for doing a great job fostering him. - Brian & Steph
Adopted 19th July, 2024
Roo
Roo came to live with us as a foster dog. After many months of no one else being interested in him, we couldn’t imagine why this might be the case, nor how we might live without him. So we became his forever home.He wants to be near us, wherever we are – and we really enjoy his company. He has completely made himself at home – and his playful side comes out more and more. Who wouldn’t want to chew up a good piece of cardboard?! These antics – and the looks… I mean – those are eyes to fall in love with. If they aren’t making us smile. He’s made himself a playmate with a teddy bear that survived R’s childhood. He’s also made himself a couch mate with R (the previous owner of the bear) and they love to cozy up for an evening in. When housemates aren’t around, then the beanbag is a favourite for both resting and a good playfight.Don’t let the resting pose fool you, this dog loves an energetic outing – the minute the car keys jingle, he is up for an adventure, and we’ve discovered lots of new places in our neighborhood as a result. Last week we took another visit to Bunnings, and he proudly trotted out of the store with a new toy he chose in his mouth. It even made the staff smile. When H recently was away for two weeks, Roo’s welcome back was a scene of unbounded joy. Just another sign that a match has been made in doggy heaven! Thanks LAG for being our matchmaker. - H&R

Marcia
Beautiful Marcia has been a great addition to our little family. I now couldn’t imagine a life without her. She loves to greet us when we get home, with the occasional zoomies in the backyard. She is gentle and great with our small dog as they hang out all day, playing with toys. Marcia mostly likes to hang out on the couch with us and is easy to train with commands.Thank you Jo and Team for matching us with Marcia who is definitely the right greyhound for us.
