Dozer is a big-hearted young greyhound who is just beginning to discover what pet life is all about. Still finding his feet in the world, Dozer can be a little nervous at first, but he is gentle, manageable, and eager to learn. He takes guidance well and, with a calm and loving home, is blossoming into a truly wonderful companion. As he settles, his playful and affectionate personality shines through, making it easy to see the incredible hound he’s becoming.

Dozer would thrive in a home with another slightly older dog who enjoys a good zoom but can also help show him the ropes. He absolutely loves movement and adventure and would happily keep walking off into the sunset if given the chance. A securely fenced yard would be ideal for him to burn off his youthful energy, test out some proper zoomies, and chase a tennis ball or tossed toys to his heart’s content. While he can be a bit boisterous at times, he settles quickly and just needs patient guidance and a cool, calm presence.

He is now fully toilet trained and confidently takes himself outside day or night, with no accidents since before Christmas. Dozer hasn’t quite mastered doing his number twos on walks yet, but he’s getting there. One thing to note is that if he decides an item is “high value,” he may mark it, so keeping tempting objects out of reach helps set him up for success.

Dozer is happy and healthy, with great teeth, and is very cooperative when being handled. He’s comfortable having his feet examined, is fine taking medication, and is easy to manage at the vet. Any past medical issues have been fully resolved, and he’s feeling good and ready for his next chapter. Bath time is still a learning curve, but he’s warming up to it, especially when it involves cooling off with a hose on his legs and tummy or splashing around in a clam shell on warm days.

Above all, Dozer is a hound who simply needs love, patience, and a family willing to guide him as he continues learning about home life. In return, you’ll get a loyal, playful, and affectionate companion who is just waiting to grow into the amazing dog he’s meant to be.
