Aston says YES to:
Big cuddles on the couch and morning snuggles in bed

Being admired for his stunning good looks

Treats, treats and more treats!

Parkour on the lounges and occasional counter-surfing (we are learning that this is impolite)

Adventures, long walks and being included in daily life

Enrichment toys and learning new things

Wrestling, tugs of war, catching the ball, having fun and making his humans laugh!

Birds … he couldn’t care less about them so may suit a family with chooks.

Aston says NO to:
Being left alone for long periods without human company

Living with small children (he is a bit too enthusiastic with his greetings!)
✘ He has not been tested with cats

Look - there really is no other way to say this … Aston is STUNNING. As in, seriously good looking. Think ‘blue steel’, the runways of Paris and media star levels of good looking. He is quite small for a boy (under 30 kilos), and as well as being gorgeous, Aston is, 99% of time, the most perfect greyhound.

This boy is so much fun and is very funny too.  He has his foster family in stitches with his antics. He absolutely loves people, walks beautifully on lead (and has excellent stamina!) and likes to say hello to (and be admired by) everyone he meets. He is very smart and athletic and so we think Aston would LOVE doing agility or fly-ball or another activity where he can show off his athletic prowess!

He is delightful with other dogs of all shapes and sizes. He is currently in foster with a pug x and two greyhounds and everyone is getting along swimmingly. He is a champion roacher, has nailed the stairs, eats beautifully, is crate trained … and the list goes on. He loves morning snuggles in his foster Mum’s bed and is generally a very cuddly, sweet and lovable greyhound.

Sounds too good to be true right? Well, nobody is perfect, and Aston does have some ‘quirks’ to consider before you pop in your application. The first is that he loves an adventure and has tried to climb out of his foster Mum’s open windows a few times when left alone.  He definitely needs a secure home environment (house or apartment) to ensure that his dreams of adventure are curtailed!

Aston has also shown some resource guarding when feeling insecure or anxious, but this behaviour disappears once he feels comfortable and safe in his environment.  While he has completely stopped resource guarding in his current foster home, we feel an experienced dog owner would be ideal, just in case this starts again in unfamiliar contexts.

Aston also loves and needs human company and would not suit being left at home alone for long hours without anybody there to adore him. He definitely prefers the company of people to dogs, and we feel that he could be happy as an only dog, providing he has adequate human company and stimulation.

Please don’t let these minor quirks deter you from considering this very special boy, because believe us when we tell you, he is sooooo worth it!
