Zorrow is the sweetest big boy with beautiful deep eyes who loves to be with his humans and would happily spend all day and night following you around. He’s also very happy relaxing on his own and can regularly be found on his back on his soft and fluffy bed with his legs in the air, snoozing away. After getting used to his new home and yard, he has been fine being left outside on his own while his humans are away.
Zorrow loves playing, especially with toys that squeak. You’ll often find him throwing them in the air and chasing them around. However, he hasn’t shown a huge interest in running around the yard so he doesn’t need a home with a big garden as long as he has a space to pee and a covered area to lounge about while you are away during the day.
Zorrow loves going for walks and car rides, he’s very excited to explore the world and go on an adventure with his humans. He loves water, especially during the warmer months to cool down. He’ll happily lie down in a clam shell pool to chill or frolic about in a river or the sea. He's definitely a people lover and will be happy to say hello to every soul that crosses his way. He is fine around kids but he does have sleep startle so it is important that his new housemates respect his boundaries and don’t touch him when he is sleeping. He is therefore not suited to a home with small children.
Another thing to know about Zorrow is that he has progressive retinal atrophy. This is a non-painful and not treatable (so no extra vet bills or medication needed for this boy) disease affecting his eyes. Because of this he is blind in his right eye. He can still see through his left eye but has limited sight at night in low light conditions. It is expected that over time he will lose sight in this eye as well and become completely blind.
This means we are looking for a special home for Zorrow with people who can give him a stable home, preferably one without stairs. With sight in only one eye, he struggles with depth perception especially going down, and with the chance of him losing his sight at some point, stairs could pose a risk for him going forward. Zorrow is fine around other dogs, just take care because he can’t always see them coming and with his sleep startle can be spooked. Because of that he is probably best living as an only pet with a family that understands his limitations and helps him when out and about.
That said, Zorrow is a very affectionate boy with a zest for life and such a quick learner, he will quickly adapt to his forever home and will bring you so much love and joy!

Morgie is a funny boy who loves a good chest scratch.
He’ll shadow you around the house and is just as happy out in the yard doing his daily boundary sniffari. He’s house trained, overnight trained, and uses a dog door with ease.
He’s excitable when waiting to have his collar & lead put on for a walk, but understands a gentle NO if needed. Morgan walks well on a loose lead but he needs space when encountering other dogs on walks as he is reactive towards them. Morgan is working with a trainer to manage this. He also loves a few speedy laps around the backyard and then time for a nap.
He’s enjoyed the company of a greyhound sister while in foster care and is at ease around small children.

Hey, I’m Rigo!
Three years ago I was adopted from Love A Greyhound. Now, I find myself back in the market for new pawrents. No fault of mine, my current folks' circumstances have changed, so I’m looking for a new home!
I'm a big blue boy with big personality - think sassy kitty meets oversized panther! I'm on the hunt for a home that gets me, where I can chill with grown-ups who understand my quirks. I might come off as a grumpy old man, but hey, I just like my space when it's time to eat and nap. I'm cool with other greyhounds but keep us apart during meals and bedtime.
My secret to staying zen? Mum’s magic mix of happy pills that keep me balanced and content. Don't let my meds fool you, though! I'm a happy 5 year old goofball who lives for good food, open spaces for zoomies, adventuring on sniffaris, learning new tricks and of course watching and judging you like a proper kitty.

Introducing Cheeky Chief.
Chief has quickly become a pro at navigating the carpeted stairs, showing off his skills in just a few days!
He’s fearless when it comes to new experiences and new friends, soaking up all the love and snuggles he can get.
With good manners, a great relationship with his foster greyhound sister, and a knack for walking on a leash, Chief is the perfect noodle.
He’s a happy-go-lucky guy who loves his food, treats, cuddles, and cozy bed above all else.
Ideal for busy bees and older kiddos, Chief is cool with smaller dogs but not so hot on tiny tots (he tends to forget he’s a big boy) and definitely not a fan of cats.

In February 2021, Murray joined our family, initially shy and timid, he quickly settled into pet life and blossomed into a confident hound.
Murray is a foodie at heart, but now he's refined his manners and patiently waits for his meals until he hears the magic word "free." This boy goes crazy for a greenie or orovet chew and dashes outside at the mere mention of the word "greenie." Be warned, though: Murray is a sneaky bench surfer, so keep those tasty treats out of his long snout reach!
He's a snuggly guy who loves couch cuddles and knows exactly when it's time to hit the hay with the command "on your bed."
While he walks well on a lead, Murray can get anxious around some dogs due to some not-so-pleasant past encounters with off-leash dogs surrounding him. We give other dogs a wide berth during walks to keep Murray feeling secure.
Despite this, he's a breeze to care for and enjoys zooming around and snuggling up to you after a long day.
He’s looking for a new home due to no fault of his own.

💗desexed

The first few nights were very cold, and he howled while sleeping outside, but now he settles down by 7pm and is found sound asleep even in -4 degrees. He is cozy at night and doesn’t seem bothered by the cold.
Opal, being a husky, enjoys being outside, but with Sven indoors, she is spending more time inside, which is a positive.
With the return of sunny days, Sven likes to bask in the sun and alternates between lounging in the house and the backyard, enjoying his retirement.
Special thanks to Christine and Graham for fostering Sven.

It has only been 1.5 months since Aiko joined our little family, and she has truly claimed her spot already, both on the couch and in our hearts.
Aiko is a beautiful, affectionate, and very playful little hound.
We love waking up to her positive energy while also appreciating her, and our first hound, Sandy, snoozing together in the evening in front of the television. We’re glad Sandy has now got a sister around for days when we work in the office.
Since Aiko joined us, we’ve also realised our car is a bit too small for two greys. Now, we’re on the hunt for a new one that can fit both more comfortably – that’s when you know you’ve found a keeper!

“Roo came to live with us as a foster dog. After many months of no one else being interested in him, we couldn’t imagine why this might be the case, nor how we might live without him. So we became his forever home.
He wants to be near us, wherever we are – and we really enjoy his company. He has completely made himself at home – and his playful side comes out more and more. Who wouldn’t want to chew up a good piece of cardboard?! These antics – and the looks… I mean – those are eyes to fall in love with. If they aren’t making us smile.
He’s made himself a playmate with a teddy bear that survived R’s childhood. He’s also made himself a couch mate with R (the previous owner of the bear) and they love to cozy up for an evening in. When housemates aren’t around, then the beanbag is a favourite for both resting and a good playfight.
Don’t let the resting pose fool you, this dog loves an energetic outing – the minute the car keys jingle, he is up for an adventure, and we’ve discovered lots of new places in our neighborhood as a result. Last week we took another visit to Bunnings, and he proudly trotted out of the store with a new toy he chose in his mouth. It even made the staff smile.
When H recently was away for two weeks, Roo’s welcome back was a scene of unbounded joy. Just another sign that a match has been made in doggy heaven!
Thanks LAG for being our matchmaker.” - H&R

Cranberry now Poppy
My precious little Poppy is so loving, caring and affectionate. She gazes at me with her beautiful twinkling eyes and my heart just melts. She has the sweetest little temperament and the most delightful personality.
Poppy is so sensitive, so intuitive and so intelligent ... and SO quirky!
Poppy has perfected the ‘flagpole' roach, and the ability to sleep on her sofa, appearing relaxed and comfortable, with the tip of her nose touching the floor ... Without losing her balance.
She LOVES her meals, and within days of adoption had learned her food word. Poppy has now learned to use her car ramp as well as her Dog Dunny. I just need to teach her that ‘not everyone visiting' expects to be welcomed by ‘vertical springs of sheer joy' and a rapidly rotating ‘helicopter tail' that could trim a hedge... (it topiarized my large indoor maidenhair fern beautifully...)
Poppy LOVES playing in her sandpit, as well as strolling beside the river or in her favourite park. She particularly enjoys her river walks, and here she enjoys watching the activity on the river be it City Cats, Kitty Cats, the birdlife or the activity and scents emanating from the prawn trawler.
Poppy does not bark... Ever!... (And neither did my beloved Tessa, my rescued greyhound who heartbreakingly passed 12th. February). Upon passing a yappy little dog on one of our river strolls, who barked at us from the time we came into view until we disappeared from view, Poppy gazed up at me with her adoring eyes and a look that said 'Aren’t you SO glad you adopted a greyhound, Mummy!'... 'I most certainly am, Poppy! A rescued greyhound is the BEST breed! ', I responded with a loving, knowing smile...
So many thanks and much appreciation, Jo and Yumi, for bringing us together!
IT’S A GREYT LIFE

There couldn’t have been another greyhound that suited as well as Bubblegum (now Eddie). He easily adjusted to living as a pet. From the first day he was so well behaved whether he was inside or out. He just sleeps the day away when his humans are out. He also quickly learned to play with his toys and with other dogs. He adjusted so well that he was soon joined by a puppy sister who he loves to play with and brought out his character even more. He has just been a wonderful addition to our family.

Summer enjoys meeting new people and soaking up the attention and pats she receives. She also likes the sandpit or lounging around inside. In the morning she makes us laugh with zoomies and circles, she’s also learning to play ball. She’s been a great addition to our family

She is the happiest dog I have ever met. To her, everything is new, wonderful, and must be explored. I’m happy to say that Lolly is now part of the gang and after fostering her for a month it was clear to my family and my other two greyhounds that she must stay with us and be a part of our family. Love you Lolly Chew, hope you have many happy days with us..

Thanks to Yumi who did a great job matching us with Jessie and supporting the transition to our house!

As first time pet owners the experience of teaching Tiger how to climb stairs has been a rewarding challenge but nothing could have stopped us from falling in love with the softest boy.
We’d recommend anyone looking at a dog to adopt a greyhound and take that leap which has already provided our small family with so many cherished moments, like watching him sprint around the house after going to the toilet which still is a daily sight to behold.
We’d also like to thanks Love A Greyhound for all their support throughout the adoption period with always helpful and reliable advice.

She creates the biggest nest with so many toys. It’s adorable. She loves walks, treats and cuddles and cannot get enough of people. Everyone that walks past she tries to demand pats from. Loves to sleep with her tongue hanging out which we find so cute. She has so much confidence and tackled the stairs straight away. She is getting to know her sister Betty and in time they will become the best of friends. We love her so much.
Thank you to Hana for fostering and finding her for us

With a memory like an elephant, legs like a cockroach, and a heart of gold, Jenny has filled our home so much love. She’s a gentle giant and goofy in all the right ways! Although she struggles to contain her excitement at times, she has come a long way from the shy girl we met just a few months ago. Thank you LAG for our forever best friend

It was alot of back and forth to adopt a second but when Boris (formerly known as Borris) came up on my Facebook, we couldn't say no to those big eyes. We have learnt what a refined old gentleman he is and he has learnt how to get the most neck scratches. He is the epitome of a greyhound; eating, sleeping and repeating. Lucy loves her older brother and we can't imagine life without him now.

She has truly lived up to every expectation and more.
We have renamed her Bettina (aka Betty, Bette, Betteswana, Betty Boop, Goose, and more nicknames to come). She loves a cuddle, sardines, and stealing the kids’ toys.
The most impressive trait of Betty’s is her adaptability to any context and how unphased she is with new experiences. She tolerates my best friend’s boisterous staffy beautifully, taught herself to climb stairs, doesn’t stress about going to the vet, and adores my partner’s kids so much to the point where she will have a little cry walking around the house when they’re not here.
She’s been a beautiful presence in our household and we’re so grateful to Yumi for facilitating Bette’s transition to our home and to Susan for loving our girl during the foster period.

Babybel has been approved to be Shani’s emotional support dog and now has a very fancy pink vest that we can wear out of the house. She wakes Shani up every morning with a face full of kisses
Babybel loves going for walks and meeting new people and dogs of all kinds. She loves to chase the other dogs at the dog park, do zoomies around the banana tree in our backyard and loves a swim! After all this she is happy to lounge around the studio while Shani makes art. Her other parent Angel is the fun parent, and their presence sends Bell into “silly mode”.
We are so grateful to have fostered/adopted this precious pooch and our lives have been enriched by her love and kindness.

I remember first reading Adele’s adoption profile and thinking, this girl has sass! It definitely made me chuckle. Little did I know, that when we enquired with Love A Greyhound about adopting a second greyhound to complement our calm, chilled out boy that Adele would be suggested to us as a potential match. Fast forward several weeks, and I can confirm that Adele is a sassy one, she makes us laugh on the daily and we love her character and the energy that this firecracker brings to our home! She is very chatty/vocal and can rival her famous namesake in the singing stakes She’s also super smart.
She’s also an absolute sweetheart who is so eager to please, loves snuggles, food and has adapted to pet life so well. Her unsuspecting hound brother Mikey has definitely warmed to her, and is quite happy to let her be the boss.
